Based out of Calgary's three largest post-secondary institutions, YYC Campus Ministry is a safe space for any and all young adults.  We are a pluralistic community, focused on spirituality and multi-faith programming that advocates the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in all aspects of life and spirituality.

Our belief is that any and all should be able to benefit from an open, inclusive, and judgement-free community.

We hold a space for the spiritual-but-not-religious and for people on the margins of Christianity. Non-dogmatic, contemplative, experimental, and social-justice oriented, we honour all aspects of the human condition - the mind, body, and spirit. We are grounded in a liberal understanding of the Christian tradition and seek to affirm people of any, or of no particular, faith tradition. Our ministry has been useful to people of all orientations, backgrounds and upbringings.

our Events

YYC Campus Ministry is heavily involved in the fabric of each university and we host weekly and monthly events that are open to every young adult. Our events take place throughout the city, and we do our best to host them in locations easily accessible by transit.

Weekly events:

  • Open drum circles where students are asked to come and be a part of a music making community where beginners are welcomed! These take place Tuesdays at SAIT, Wednesdays at UCalgary, and Thursdays at MRU.
  • Simple suppers where students receive a free meal and can participate in a conversation cafe. These take place at UCalgary on Wednesdays and at MRU on Thursdays, both directly after the open drum circles.

Monthly events:

  • Contemplative Worship Service where students are invited to take part in our tazie-based service every month throughout the year. This service includes a free meal at the beginning and takes place in a quaint, tiny church in the city's core.
  • BBQs where young adults can enjoy the great outdoors, a campfire, and free food during the summer months.

This is a small smattering of all the events the Campus Ministry is a part of throughout the year, to see all of what we do head on over to our events calendar right here!

YYC Campus Ministry is the the Campus Ministry of the United and Presbyterian Churches in Calgary,Alberta. We work at the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and  engage in spirituality and multi-faith programming at each of these institutions. We work out of three multi-faith centres, all of which are open, non-judgmental spaces that any and all students are welcome into. If you are looking for a quiet space to get away from the hustle and bustle of university life, come visit us. We are always happy to talk if you need a friendly ear or are struggling with your own place in the spiritual realm. Or simply come and enjoy the space.

At the University of Calgary we are located in the Faith and Spirituality Center on the third floor of MacEwan Student Centre (MSC 373) where there is always tea, hot water, and a microwave available. At Mount Royal University our office is located in the Multi-Faith Chaplains’ Centre (F122). At SAIT our office is located in the Interfaith Centre (MB227).
